Nintendo Classic Mini announcement

Nintendo Classic Mini

After the super successful launch of the Nintendo Classic Mini in 2016 you all know Nintendo promptly ran out of stock and sold an impressive 1.5 million units very quickly. This left a great many retro gamers very disgruntled, so much so we had people asking if they could buy our Classic Mini that we use for our retro games events offering us over £200 for the little unit.

Well, good news for you all! Nintendo have announced a new batch of Nintendo Classic Mini's will be produced.

Nintendo NES Classic Edition

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima told investors exactly why the NES Classic Edition console has proved so difficult to produce in higher quantities, while also apologising for the store shortages.

"In November last year, we brought back the nostalgic Famicom and NES home consoles in palm-sized versions and shipped the entire quantity of Nintendo Classic Mini Family Computer units we initially prepared for each market." explained Kimishima. "We apologise to our consumers and retail partners for the inconvenience caused by product shortages. "Some parts require time to procure, but we are working to increase production. "We also see the nostalgic interest in these products as an opportunity to draw consumers’ attention to our latest game system, Nintendo Switch."

Nintendo NES Mini

Although an exact date hasn't been confirmed at this stage we do know that Nintendo are increasing production levels and some stores in the UK are starting to see a few units of the NES Mini appearing on their shelves.

Will you be getting in line to grab one of the super rare Nintendo NES Mini units?
